Setting Off
02:02
|
|||
Wave goodbye,
Lonely faces line the bank, in sad reply.
On a faultless dawn, an Autumn morning climbs.
On a journal’s final page, some tears resigned.
Voyage log, new leaf unwritten.
Lines released from the horn cleat,
Ravelled into circles on the deck.
Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing will ever be the same again.

Riverflow
06:45
|
|||
Riverflow, river take us to the place that lies below,
To the misty distance, we are bound alone,
Where an unfamiliar future counts our souls,
And eyes our golden sails to claim them as his own.
Only we can save the ones we left at home,
Our laden Caravel, their last remaining hope.
Setting out to trace horizons that unfold,
Point of sail to the unknown.
Riverflow, the sun will shine on us tomorrow,
Riverflow, by your grace our fate will follow,
Riverflow, I will see her face again sometime I know, riverflow.
Now we sail down to forever,
We sail the water on.
Riverflow, the sun will shine on us tomorrow,
Riverflow, by your grace our fate will follow,
Riverflow, I will see her face again sometime I know, riverflow.
In the wider, deeper surge,
Branches thread shades overhead,
Wolfed down by the dark arch of a tunnel of trees.
Open out to a lough, prow
Through unveiling swells ahead.
Lean long in the wind seam,
Peace breakers, we proceed.
In the wild and wicked dirt,
Water winds and wears the earth,
Now ploughed on the surface,
Waves feast on our bow.
Riverflow, to a valley as the sun sets on its shores,
In the dying light, the fireflying grows,
And the stars emerge like diagrams exposed,
Arcing lines to the unknown.
Riverflow, the sun will shine on us tomorrow,
Riverflow, by your grace our fate will follow,
Riverflow, I will see her face again sometime I know, riverflow.

To The Other Side
09:03
|
|||
Sun breaks in the yellow air, soaked to the bone,
Heat beams in waves on deserted distant sands, far along.
And the mountain sides roll down and dive,
Further on, further on, our boat sails further on, to the sea.
And the green fields give away to amber ranges dry.
Terrain that blanches in the rays, reveals some ancient ruins,
Where desolated fragments of the past lay wasted in white,
Monuments, forgotten now, remind us as they die.
Out of the ordinary moments of a lifetime,
Into the blinding light of things we’ve never seen.
Circling sparks and embers rise and glide around us,
Stars we are meant to be.
Spellbound in the crystalline, shell-shocked as we stand beguiled.
Kindling, the air ignites, nothing that we recognise.
Sail on to the other side,
Out of nothing, glimmers shine,
Dancing in suspended flight,
Knowing in retreat from life,
Steady as she goes so bright.
Like we’re sailing to the other side.
Sailing to the other side.
We wake up in a different realm, darkness all around.
A great hall takes form in the distance.
A figure approaches now, floating through the air.
White clouds convey her towards us.
Take a knee for her majesty.
She speaks slow in an unknown tongue, we somehow understand.
She beckons us forward to reach her.
We can only obey her voice and follow her commands,
We reply in her own new language.
Arms open wide, from within forms a gateway,
Her presence disappears, bathed in the light.
Through the gateway, a valley trail,
Gathering together, proceed to the deep,
Smooth silver hills that engulf us as one,
We’re claimed by the land and lead on to our fate.
In this valley of mirrors, our nemeses wait.

Valley Of Elah
04:07
|
|||
Walking from the valley of Elah,
Down to where the flowers that bloom.
People raise their hands and they sing to the heavens,
Like we’re saviours of a world renewed.
The leaves that flit and glide before us,
The blossoms in a victory dance.
A sea of voices ring and the melody calls us,
To the quays here on the river we stand.
Sha La La
We watch our ship make waves towards us,
Commanded by mysterious force.
Close enough to board and we climb up the rigging,
And return to our uncharted course.
The woman reappears to guide us,
She paints a map of stars in the sky.
The only way is forward and on to the openings,
That surface as the water ignites.
Tell me how we make it out,
Tell me where we go from here,
Tell me how we make it out,
And save our people far from here.
Slowly now we take her onward,
Steady at the helm we see,
All the people bid us farewell as they leave us to the mercy of the clouded wing.
We turn the sail and travel further,
Measuring the rising wind,
Helpless to the wishes of Manannán, taking us to places that we’ve never been.

Scaling Novas
03:08
|
|||
Now the openings that gather in their numbers now,
Fill the ocean with an emptiness, a vacant sea
We are drawn towards their gravity and enter now,
And we find our ship is rising up relentlessly,
Scaling novas, soaring over.
Here it comes, the miracle.
And all we believe in is leaving us,
Everything sacred is meaningless,
Into the void.
